How To Fix The Windows Missing Device Driver Problem on a Bootable USB

Having set your bootable USB drive to install Windows and all of a sudden you get prompted by the following message: "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing" !!! I know so well how frustrating it can be but there is always a ray of light in every technical problem. The issue frequently happens among the new generation of notebooks and computers where Windows installer fails to detect the USB drive.  Here are the solutions:

* First Solution:

1. Boot your device into the Bios (check in Google how to enter the Bios according to your device model).

2. Navigate to "system configuration" then scroll down to "USB3.0 configuration in Pre-OS" and set it to "Auto" as shown in the photo below. ( you will not have the exact tabs depending on your device model).

3. Navigate to "Exit" and save the current settings then reboot.

*Second Solution:

1. When you are prompted by this message "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing", just click "Cancel".

2. You are brought back to the welcome screen now.
Remove the USB and insert it back into ANOTHER USB PORT.

3. Click "Install Now" once again. The installation process should be back to normal now.

NB: if this did not solve the issue, repeat the same process and plug the USB into another different PORT.

Once the USB drive is re-inserted, Windows installer should detect it and would continue normally without any errors.
