In this tutorial, I am going to tell what would you do if ever you had your phone water soaked so as to save it from ruin. Here are the steps:

1. Remove The Battery

No matter where your phone was dropped (water tub, sink, toilet, sea...) or had liquids spilt on it, the first thing you should consider is immediately taking off the back case and removing the battery from the phone without even thinking to shut it down first. If you have an iPhone, just power it off right away. Separating the battery from the phone prevents from creating a short circuit.

2. Remove the SD Card and SIM Card.

Try to remove your sim(s), SD card and any other accessories attached to the phone.

3.Dry Off Your Phone

Take a piece of cloth and start to lightly dry your phone off and all the other accessories as much as possible. Do not try to expose it to the sunlight or use a hair dryer; This may risk damaging the internal parts.

4. Put The Phone In Rice

Yes i know this sounds weird and I did have that surprise on my face when I first heard about it. So, submerge both of the phone and the battery in a container of rice for up to one day.
As long as rice is highly absorbent, it will help your phone dry quickly. The longer you keep your phone in rice the better it is. If it is badly soaked with water, you can keep it in rice for 3 days.

5. Power On Your Phone

Now it is time to test your phone after 24 hours and let's hope things won't go wrong. But If it does not power on, then you should get a new battery, and it will work unless the components were severely damaged with water.

I hope this guide would help you fix your water damage smartphone. Feel free to leave a comment and share with us your experience and other tips that helped you get your phone back.
