Watching Hollywood movies in theaters can be a fun activity either with a friend or family, but sometimes your home screen has no doubt its own flavour, that's where subtitle and captions stepped into the scene. No matter what media player you are using when watching your movie at home, there is always a way how to load subtitles into it.
First of all, let's make sure that you have a codec to run any video format. You can get, for instance, K-lite Codec Pack and install it.
As for the sites from which to get subtitles, you can search on SubScene, SubtitleHub and OpenSubtitles or you can simply paste the movie title followed by "subtitles" and run the search on Google.
1. First Method To Load Subtitles To A Movie.
This is the easiest way how to load an external subtitles to a movie in Windows Media Player 12, Media Player Classic (to be installed when you install Klite Codec Pack) or any other video player. Just download the files and extract them if they are already compressed in .zip format. the subtitle files should be either in .SRT or .SUB format once extracted. So have your movie and the subtitles file put into the same folder and make sure they have the exact same name, apart from the extension. Check the screenshot below where the video is "The Revenant 2015 DVDScr" and the subtitle file is "The Revenant 2015 DVDScr.srt"
Now you just right-click on the video and choose “Play with Windows Media Player” or double click on the video and it will play with your default video player. This should hopefully play your movie with the subtitles on.
2. Second Method To Load Subtitles Into A Movie.
If you still cannot get the subtitles loaded into your video, follow these steps.
*Load Subtitles In Windows Media Player: From the default home screen right click on the bar near the top and select Play > Lyrics, captions, and subtitles > On if available.
*Load Subtitles In Media Player Classic: From the default home screen click on File>Load Subtitles (or CTRL+L) and navigate where you extracted the .srt subtitles file to load it.
*Load Subtitles In VLC Player: If you don't have it installed on your computer, you can get it from the official website. So from the default home screen, click on video> Subtitles track > Load File then select your .srt file to get loaded.
Thus you are able to watch the latest movies with subtitles on at home cosily. Should you encounter any trouble, just leave us a comment below about your issue and it should be solved asap.
