Tired of your Windows computer is too slow? Freezing and crashing? You don't want to buy a new PC because it might not be the right time yet, huh? Well then, follow these simple steps to boost your device performance.
1. Create A Restore Point
Before you start tweaking your Windows, I recommend that you create a restore point in case anything goes wrong, you will always have the option to restore your settings back. Go to control panel>recovery>configure system restore. Once you are there, select "create". The system can be restored by pressing F8 when the computer's starting up and selecting Safe Mode2. Remove Any Unnecessary Pre-installed Programs
Select the unused program then right click to uninstall it.3. Disable The Unwanted Startup Programs
Hit "start" button and search for MSCONFIG. Uncheck the program and save it to apply the changes then reboot later manually.
4. Opt Out Of The Indexing Services For Fast Files Searching
Right-click on the computer icon on your desktop and select "Properties"; then uncheck the indexed contents as shown in the photo below.5. Adjust The Visual Effect For Best Performance
Go to control panel>performance and information tools>advanced tools>adjust the appearance and performance of Windows, OR press Start button and search for "adjust the appearance and performance of Windows".Then, select "adjust for the best performance" or you can customise it as in the screenshot.
6. Use The Basic Theme Or Remove The Background Wallpaper
Search for "Personalization from the start menu and customize your desktop background.
7. Defragment Your Hard Drive
Search for "Disk Defragmenter"; Analyse the drive(s) then hit Defragment disk.8. Modify The Power Options
Click on the battery icon (if on a notebook/laptop) and select "High Performance".9. Delete Windows Junk And Temporary Files
Click on start button and type %temp% and delete all of the files that it contains. Go to computer >C: >Windows > Prefetch and remove all the files in that folder as well as temp folder too.10. Disable Unnecessary Services

11. Enable The ReadyBoost Technique
Provide a USB stick or SD card. Once plugged in, go to Computer and right-click (on the removable disk chosen), select "Properties" then navigate to"ReadyBoost". Now press on "Use this device" and OK.12. Increase The Priority Of The Running Processes
To change the priority of the running programs on your PC, go to Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del buttons at the same time. Navigate to Processes/Details then right click on the process you want to change and select "set priority" to HIGH as shown in the photo. You can also change the affinity and select just one or two processors to run that program. Select "Explorer" process and adjust its priority to HIGH.13. Run A Full Scan For Potential Viruses, Malware And Windows Issues
Use an efficient Antivirus program and/or an Anti-malware, if you did not install any yet, to scan your computer for any infections as well as some system cleaners such as Glary Utilities and CCleaner.

14. Format Your Computer By Reinstalling Windows
To format your PC, you need to have a copy of Window on a DVD or a bootable USB flash drive.
